A traffic stop in Denton led to multiple drug-related charges for a Davidson County man after detectives said they found several controlled substances inside his vehicle.
On June 13, 2026, detectives with the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office T.R.A.C.E. Team stopped a 1997 Mercury Grand Marquis at the intersection of S. NC Hwy 109 and Bombay Road for a traffic violation. During the stop, investigators said the driver, Brant Black, was found to be in possession of psilocybin mushrooms, methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Black was taken into custody and charged with possession with the intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine, possession of a schedule I controlled substance, possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle for the use of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia, and marijuana paraphernalia.
He was also cited for having no liability insurance and texting while driving.
Black received a $25,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County Court in June 2026.
