WHITE HALL, W.Va. — A Marion County woman is behind bars accused of purchasing medical marijuana for a person not approved to participate in the program.
Saturday, officers with the White Hall Police Department received two 911 calls from the Middletown Commons area about a woman driving a black Ford car who was screaming at a black male passenger. Callers also told police there was a young child in the backseat.
Police located the vehicle at the White Hall Hardee’s and made contact with Nicole Lynn Ripoli, 46, of Fairmont, who was standing outside of the car yelling at the black male.
Ripoli told police the black male would not get out of her vehicle after they had left a medical marijuana dispensary. She told police she legally purchased two bags of marijuana- one for her and one for her passenger. When she returned to the car, she gave both bags to the passenger who then refused to give her one.
Officers confirmed the story with the passenger and determined he was legally approved to participate in the medical marijuana program. The passenger also told police he gave Ripoli $20 to make the purchase for him because he did not have a medical marijuana card.
Ripoli told officers she had consumed marijuana before driving to the dispensary with the passenger and her child in the backseat.
Ripoli refused to consent to a blood test.
Ripoli has been charged with criminal diversion of medical cannabis and child neglect creating risk of injury.
She is being held in the North Central Regional Jail.
