Following an investigation that started in March, Fishers Police Department announced May 13 that officers had arrested two people and seized more than 200 pounds of marijuana, along with other THC products.
Ian Heath of Freedom and Brenden Grubb of Spencer each face a preliminary felony charge of dealing in marijuana and a misdemeanor charge of marijuana possession.
According to the announcement, a FPD detective assigned to the Hamilton/Boone County Drug Task Force initiated a narcotics investigation in March after observing a Snapchat profile advertising the sale of marijuana and THC products.
“During the investigation, the detective identified suspects Ian Heath and Brenden Grubb, along with a vehicle believed to be involved in the distribution of narcotics,” the announcement stated. “The detective shared that information with the Fishers Police Department’s Crime Reduction Unit.”
CRU detectives later located the suspect vehicle traveling on I-69. Detectives allegedly observed the vehicle commit multiple traffic infractions and conducted a traffic stop. During the stop, a Fishers Police Department K-9 officer conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle, and the K-9 positively alerted to the presence of narcotics.
Heath and Grubb were detained while detectives conducted a search of the vehicle, allegedly finding approximately 211 pounds of marijuana, five pounds of pre-rolled marijuana products, 3,696 THC cartridges and a firearm.
Heath and Grubb have had their initial appearances in Hamilton County Court. They are not in custody, according to Hamilton County Jail online records.
