LIVINGSTON, Texas (KTRE) – A 67-year-old man has been arrested on drug charges by Crockett police.
Larry Joseph Williams, 67, of Livingston, was arrested on Wednesday morning during a traffic stop.
On Wednesday at 7:50 a.m., officers pulled over a 2011 GMC pickup on East Bowie Avenue after receiving a report of reckless driving.
Officers were assisted at the scene by deputies with the Houston County Sheriff’s Office and a trooper with the Texas Highway Patrol.
During the traffic stop, officers spotted a large amount of suspected methamphetamine in plain view inside the vehicle, according to Crockett PD. A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a little over three ounces of methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.
Williams was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana <2 ounces, a class b misdemeanor, and manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance penalty group 1 >=4 grams <200 grams, a first-degree felony.
Williams is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
