Harbor police on the Aegean Sea island of Skiathos have arrested a man in possession of more than 13 kilograms of marijuana, authorities said Monday.
A Coast Guard statement said Sunday’s operation followed a tip-off. The 68-year-old suspect was taken into custody after picking up two items of hand luggage containing the drugs that had arrived on a small passenger vessel moored at the old port of Skiathos.
A second suspect who was present at the scene ran away as soon as he saw the harbor police personnel and is being sought.
