MAURICE—A 30-year-old Sioux City man was arrested about noon Saturday, Feb. 21, near Maurice on a charge of possession of controlled substance — marijuana — third or subsequent offense.
The arrest of Ahmari Hamaas Hansen stemmed from the stop of a 2005 Ford Excursion for speeding on Highway 75 near 470th Street on the east edge of Maurice, according to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office.
A strong odor of marijuana was detected coming from the vehicle, and a bag containing marijuana bud was found in the back of the front right passenger seat that Hansen, the passenger, claimed possession of, according to the incident report.
