What began as surveillance of a suspected drug transaction in a Hickory Hollow fast food parking lot ended with police seizing 16 pounds of marijuana, four guns and $13,000 in cash.
Police saw what looked like a drug deal happening in a fast food parking lot in the Hickory Hollow area Thursday night.
They stopped one of the cars involved, a Chrysler 300, driven by 24-year-old Trenthony Simms, and when they asked him to get out he drove away instead.
Police went to his apartment address, and as they arrived they saw him speeding again, this time in a Jeep Cherokee.

A traffic stop was attempted without compliance. Police then used spike strips to flatten his tires, which stopped the vehicle.
Inside of the Jeep was a duffel bag that contained 5.5 pounds of marijuana. The execution of a search warrant at Simms' apartment led to the discover of 10.5 more pounds of marijuana, four guns, baggies, a vacuum sealer and cash.
Simms is charged with two counts of felony evading, possession of marijuana for resale, gun possession for the commission of a dangerous felony and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
A judicial commissioner set his bond at $25,000.
