A Hall County jury convicted a Nebraska notary public Wednesday on 24 misdemeanors linked to the medical marijuana ballot initiatives.
Court documents show Jacy Todd was found guilty of 23 misdemeanor counts of official misconduct and one count of making false statements under oath. One count of official misconduct was dropped.
Todd is accused of notarizing petition pages outside of the presence of petition circulators. Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers announced the charges against Todd in 2024 and charges against petition circulator Michael Egbert.
Investigators said Egbert dropped off pages containing forged signatures at Todd’s Grand Island business. Egbert pleaded guilty to a Class 4 felony and was fined $250, plus $50 in court costs.
Sentencing for Todd is tentatively scheduled for April 22.
