SAPULPA, Okla. — The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics seized 286 plants and 77 pounds of processed marijuana as part of a criminal investigation in Sapulpa.
OBN’s Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET) served a search warrant at Sunray Pharms, located near Highway 66 and Mesa Road, on Thursday.

“Our MET Agents have found evidence of black-market distribution, obtaining their OBN Registration by fraud through a ‘straw ownership’ scheme, untagged marijuana plants and plants with tags that do not belong to this business,” said OBN PIO Mark Woodward
Agents also seized four guns during the search. Arrests are pending as the investigation continues, OBN said.

Several agencies assisted OBN during the search, including the Creek County Sheriff’s Office, Sapulpa Police Department, Oklahoma Highway Patrol and investigators from the District 24 Drug Task Force.
In 2021, OBN established MET to address the escalating presence of criminal organizations setting up marijuana operations in Oklahoma.
MET agents have targeted operations tied to black market trafficking and obtaining an OBN Registration by fraud using ‘straw ownership’ schemes.
At the end of 2022, 8,400 farms were operating with an active OBN Registration. As of now, that number stands at less than 1,400 grows with an active registration.
OBN said since 2022, MET agents have seized over 2.2 million illegal marijuana plants, more than 290,000 pounds of processed marijuana and made over 400 arrests with more arrests pending as many investigations remain ongoing.
Citizens can anonymously report criminal drug and human trafficking activity to OBN’s tip-line at 800-522-8031, or by sending OBN a Facebook direct message.
