CARMEL – Describing teenagers as “our greatest joy and our hope for the future,” Putnam lawmakers have proclaimed Healthy Brain Day by calling on today’s youth to make safe and healthy decisions by refraining from using marijuana.
At the legislature’s monthly meeting, the governing body noted there was “strong objective evidence that marijuana is harmful to the adolescent brain with the potential to cause distorted perceptions, difficulty with thinking and problem solving in addition to disrupted learning and impaired reaction time.”
Representatives of the Putnam Youth Bureau, Putnam Department of Mental Health, Putnam that Cares Coalition attended the meeting and thanked the lawmakers for their action that they said would assist young people with their attention span, judgement, balance and coordination.
