Dispensaries throughout North Jersey are offering various deals and discounts to celebrate the biggest day of the year for marijuana enthusiasts.
Shops have been offering multi-day promotions for products in honor of 4/20, the unofficial holiday for smokers around the world. The day’s origins can be traced back to the early 1970s, when a group of California high school students would frequently meet at 4:20 p.m. to smoke at a designated spot on the school campus.

Located near the Rockaway Townsquare mall in Morris County, Holistic Re-Leaf is offering 25% off items storewide on April 20. Customers who spend $150 can get select edibles for a penny, while those who spend $200 will receive a jar of Miss Grass for an additional cent.
The store also offers daily deals every Monday through Thursday, with 10 to 15% off certain products each day. From Monday through Friday, the whole store is 15% off from 9 a.m. to noon.

The dispensary in Sussex Borough is on the last of four straight days of sales, with discounts ranging from 20 to 40% off various products. Customers who spend $50 can get a one-hitter from Kind Tree for a penny.
Cannabis Clubhouse is also giving away products and branded clothing in two separate raffles for customers spending at least $100. The prize for the third raffle, open to customers who spend at least $200, is a party pack of pre-rolls along with four tickets to see Jason Aldean at Bethel Woods Center for the Arts on Saturday, July 18.

Other Apothecarium products are either 35% or 50% off while supplies last. Customers can get three types of Kind Tree flower products, normally valued at $52, for $20 through May 3.
