ROCK RAPIDS—A 19-year-old Brandon, SD, resident faces multiple charges following a traffic stop about 8:15 a.m. Friday, April 24, near Rock Rapids.
The arrest of Tucker Ryan Douglas Taylor stemmed from the stop of an eastbound 2016 GMC Sierra pickup for traffic violations at the intersection of highways 9 and 75 west of Rock Rapids, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
Taylor was found in possession of a tobacco vape, nicotine pouches, a grinder containing what he said was marijuana, and a marijuana pipe.
He also was in possession of a shooter bottle of 100-proof alcohol.
Taylor admitted he smoked marijuana that morning before leaving, and he showed impairment on field sobriety tests, according to the incident report.
He provided a sample of urine to be submitted to the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation Criminalistics Laboratory in Ankeny for chemical testing.
Taylor was charged with first-offense operating while under the influence, first-offense possession of a controlled substance — marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, first-offense person under 21 using a tobacco/vapor product, first-offense possession/purchase of alcohol under legal age, use of an electronic communication device, and speeding.
