After a reported “marijuana overdose,” a minor was arrested after law enforcement identified an alleged seller through his social media “store.”
On April 16, a 16-year-old Moorpark boy was arrested after authorities said he sold marijuana edibles to two minors in January. The investigation began when the two minors consumed the edibles and called 911, reporting what they described as “overdosing on marijuana.”
The case was assigned to the Moorpark Investigations Unit, which identified the social media platforms the suspect allegedly used to sell edibles to other minors. The Ventura County Fentanyl and Overdose Crimes Unit assisted in the investigation.
Authorities served a search warrant on April 16 at the suspect’s home, where they recovered evidence of drug sales, including packaging materials, marijuana products, a large amount of cash believed to be proceeds from illegal sales and a loaded stolen handgun.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of selling marijuana to a minor and selling a controlled substance. Moorpark detectives are continuing to investigate the stolen firearm.
Child Protective Services was notified of the arrest.
