Two people were arrested Friday in unrelated investigations and accused of selling marijuana, the Burlington Police Department and court records said.
Following complaints from the public about apparent drug dealing at a residence, police executed a search warrant about 5:50 p.m. on Friday, May 8, at 608 Center Ave., apartment A. Officers found marijuana, according to an arrest warrant, and additional evidence police called consistent with the sale of illegal drugs.
Imari Shonta Mebane, 29, was arrested and charged with maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance and felony exposing a child to controlled substances.
Mebane’s arrest warrant said the child in question was 14.
Mebane was released May 9 after posting $40,000 secured bond.
In an unrelated case, on the evening of May 8, police observed Malcolm Dupree Odom Jr., 18, of East Morehead Street apparently conducting drug transactions at Tucker Street Apartments, police said.
Police followed Odom’s vehicle and pulled him over for a traffic violation, and Odom got out of his vehicle and began to walk away, an arrest warrant said. Police found a concealed 9mm handgun and marijuana in Odom’s possession.
He was arrested and charged with felony possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, misdemeanor resisting, delaying and obstructing an officer and misdemeanor carrying a concealed handgun. He was released Monday after posting $500 secured bond.
