IBERVILLE PARISH — Two women were arrested over the weekend after they allegedly attempted to bring contraband into the Elayn Hunt Correctional Center, according to the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office.
The women, identified as Shermaniqua Smith, 26, of Shreveport, and Marshayla Blade, 23, of Bossier City, were arrested on Saturday, June 13, after they arrived at Elayn Hunt for a visit. According to the sheriff’s office, correctional officers discovered the marijuana contraband during a routine screening of the women.
Both women were arrested and booked into the Iberville Parish Jail on the following charges:
